out of curiousity for 1.10.2 .. is there a way to get all the dimlets craftable without cheating them in? like structure dimlets or sky dimlets
im on ftb beyond but have updated mods to fix issues as needed and seeing that dimlets are still not all craftable yet for this version. and searching this thread see that you could cheat them in but really did not like that idea. it does show recipes in the workbench for the dimlets even tho says not craftable at this time.

I am working on a custom modpack (just for personal use) and I'm trying to re balance the various dimlets because I have the ability to generate lots of RF/t (using SolarFluxReborn & NuclearCraft). I'm running into an interesting issue which I'm not sure if its a bug, or just something in the underlying math that I'm not understanding.
Specifically working with Draconium Ore from Draconic Evolution. I've changed the dimlet filter so that it has a creation cost of 20M for 10k ticks as well as a maintain cost of 325k. The issue I'm running into is that when I made a dimension using this dimlet and put it in the dimension builder...nothing happened (redstone set to ignored state). I've got 5 creative energy sources touching 5 sides of the builder. At first, I figured that this was just a delay due to the 50k RF per side limit of the builder so, for debugging, I've upped that (in several steps) to 50M per side, but its still not building the world. By contrast, if I decrease the creation cost of the dimlet to 2M, then it builds just fine and the world is as I would expect it to be, so I know it's not an issue with the filter settings.
This got me thinking, is there some upper limit in the background where the builder basically says "that's too expensive" and refuses to build the world? I left the dimension tab in the builder for several hours yesterday just in case it was just being REALLY slow, but still got nothing.
I even tried it with multiple (identical) tabs in multiple builders with many creative energy sources and still got nothing.
Anyone else encountered anything like this and/or know what is going on here?

20M.... You may be overflowing some calculations here. Why not insert some efficiency dimlets or otherwise try to reduce the cost a little? That's really excessive and this mod is not intended for such high power dimensions. This will not work well

Hey McJty, I'm also on 1.10.2, and am trying to piece together a test dimension to see if I've fully understood the system or not. I want to use Draconic Evolution's Awakened Draconium Block (draconicevolution.draconic_block) to make a canyon, but RFTools apparently failed to detect those blocks by default (or they're being blocked), and the instructions on the Github Wiki for making a custom dimlet appear to be outdated, as they reference "dimlets.cfg" which doesn't exist. Am I just missing something?

Is there a way to make the builder quarry a Composition pattern? I've built my composition so it intersects with a mountain that my base would be sticking off the side of, I don't want to disturb the landscape too much.
EDIT: Figured it out, Stick quarry card into Composite mode then place it in the composer with all your already made shapes.

I created different dimensions with RFTools Dimensions mod and i have tried on them various shaders (Kuda, Sildurs, BSL) but all give problems (see screenshot).The sky, the moon and the sun can not be seen.
There is anything i can do to solve this problem?

Just out of curiosity, is there any reason behind the crafting function on the Storage Scanner (& linked Storage Tablet) not being a player craft, when it requires player actions anyway? It is especially counter-intuitive when I try to trigger crafting detections of questing mods. I often find myself crafting using the Storage Scanner but forgetting that it won't count as me crafting for questing mods.
It'd actually be great if it just triggers something like an ItemCraftedEvent for the sake of compatibility with crafting detections like those in questing mods. I haven't looked into the code much, but I don't think it'd be too hard, would it?

Not sure if somebody has already posted this, but when I fooled around with this mod in ftb revelations, I found out the shield generator doesn't work on anything from industrial craft. A nuke for instance goes right through so I suspect a reactor going critical would too. Doesn't the shield have a blast resistance? Would it be possible to make it work for more than the vanilla minecraft explosions? I'm looking for a replacement for tinker mechworks drawbridges atm to create large sized blast doors, no luck so far...

When using the elevator - is there a way to have the doors to the elevator auto open when the elevator arrives at its destination? You cant use pressure plates so i was wondering if there was any other way of doing it?

Hey there! I've only been using RFtools for a few days but love it already! I've also got some suggestions:
[Button Module] Ability to use an item as a button or label text
Alternatively: Have a separate graphical button module where it can display several items in a row (like the Inventory Screen Module) , but make each displayed item a clickable/toggle button.
[Button Module] Change button text/colour based on toggle state
The bevel effect of the button isn't visible when shaders are in use, and could also be more informative for what the toggle state is doing. (e.g. ON or OFF, LEFT or RIGHT, etc)

Use the Sensor block or any equivalent to emit a redstone signal while it senses the platform in front of it and connect that signal to the door.
That's a really basic way of doing it that makes the door stay open as long as the platform is still on that level, but you can probably work out something better if you tinker with it more.

In older mod packs with Mystcraft I was able to copy an old Overworld into a dimension. I tried the same with RFTools Dimensions for 1.10.2 and ended up with a world where all of the block ids were mismatched. There must be some issue with Forge going on, because these were the steps I took:
1. Open my old server and save the overworld. Stop the server and save the world.
2. Open my new server, create a RFTools dimension with all default settings (default terrain, sky, time, etc). Stop the server and save the world.
3. Navigate to the newly-created RFTOOLSXX dimension folder. Delete the region information within. Copy the Overworld from the old server to the RFTOOLSXX region folder.
4. Restart the new server and go to the new dimension.
5. Find that every block has been replaced with some other block. My trees are made of fences. Fountains are made of molten bronze instead of water. All of the machines are replaced by other things.
Does anyone have suggestions on what to do to fix this? I'd really like to bring my old world alongside my new world but these block replacements are driving me nuts.

Not sure if a solution was ever found but the shield blocks don't emit light but they remain transparent even if solid blocks are selected.
Its like placing down glass, then changing the appearance, it looks dark/solid but it's still a clear glass block

Hello.
First of all, I know that I'm going to hear you tell me that I'm on an old version but I do not want to change. I have a Map two years old and damn beautiful. However I would have liked to know if there was a way (simple?) Via an ad-on or if someone could code me something quickly to be able to have the functionality of mod rftools (version 1.10 or 1.12) for rftools 1.7.10 ... Namely: I would at least be able to take the items in the storage scanner.
